Evaluation

In this post I will reflect on what I have achieved and done for this course. What have I done so far? 1. Research on client I have done research in Sunderland culture and what it’s about, I visited their website to learn more about them and what it’s all about, I learned that they were actually a charity that supports and bring people together including young people 2. Investigation and analysis  This is another part of my research that I done but this time for my target audience, I also needed to identify and research into already existing products along with its codes and conventions, this was to test my knowledge on how much I knew about media in general. I lastly had to create an audience profile based on the feed back I gained from researching my audience. 3. Rationale and Pitching my Product The idea of making a pitch was to make it engaging to a targeted audience and what better way for engaging young people than to add memes and movie quotes? The whole point of makin...

Post-Production Diary

In this post similar to my Production Diary I will demonstrate the behind the scenes of my production, except this is to show demonstration of my technical skills.   Phase one: Raw footage and Cropping + Merging clips The first thing I did was to click the I Movie app icon on my phone then start a new project, whilst starting a new project I needed to choose what clips I can use for my project, once selected I have merged and added new raw footage, this includes cropping and editing clips, the app features is pretty basic but these editing tools gets the job done. Phase two: Changing image color There is an option when adding clips to change the color and display, this feature is great if you would want to change the tone of the film, for instance I chose one called ‘Camo’ to give the whole scene a dark and dramatic kinda vibe.    Before After Phase 03: Voice over and audio After adding and merging clips it is time for some audio, in order to record real time a...

Production Diary

In this post I will show off my production diary, this includes behind the scenes of my filming production and the codes and conventions I used etc. Phase 01: Setting the Camera (Phone) While a smartphone may not be a proper camera it does produce high quality videos and image due to it being a model (I phone 11) that is still up to date, although it isn’t the most advanced phone to exist it gets the job done. The phone cover I have also acts as a stand to help balance the device when recording so I never really got to use a tripod for this one.  This device allows me to produce high quality images as well as live videos. Phase 02: Setting up the scene  Before recording I had to set up each scene, using printed paper as backgrounds I gave combined them to give an illusion of the scenario environment. In preparation I have used multiple backgrounds and each time a new scene starts I change the backgrounds. Phase 03: Lighting prep It’s not much but I used a torch to add li...

Pre-Production: Creative Elements

Creative Elements for Pre-Production .  Scripts : Draft Script (Original concept idea) Using google docs I have built both scripts from scratch, click on the links to view them.  https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Erm4_rMwcoBYPG5WZpMvFx8k5aF9icih1jzBVwWqZ88/edit  The first script contains an idea of a young man named Tommy who is living his daily life at Sunderland, he hangs out with his two friends both Oliver and Harry. In this storyline we get to watch them make plans to meet up and have fun in the City Centre but as their journey progresses they stumble upon some rather chaotic events, from an angry customer at McDonalds to getting drunk at a pub, this draft is a comedy based stop-motion animation with a blend of some adult (and Mackam) Humor. The reason I have scrapped this idea was because I came up with another one that I actually liked slightly better then the original concept, I will explain as I go through the second script. Script draft 02: (New and final Idea...
